Who is behind major funding for the anti-science campaign undermining efforts to take on Climate Change? Surprise, surprise: Charles and David Koch are at the end of the money trail.

The Donors Trust, along with its sister group Donors Capital Fund, based in Alexandria, Virginia, is funnelling millions of dollars into the effort to cast doubt on climate change without revealing the identities of its wealthy backers or that they have links to the fossil fuel industry.

However, an audit trail reveals that Donors is being indirectly supported by the American billionaire Charles Koch who, with his brother David, jointly owns a majority stake in Koch Industries, a large oil, gas and chemicals conglomerate based in Kansas.

It's no secret that the Koch brothers use their vast wealth to weaken environmental protections through politics. Now, it's also no secret that the Koch brothers fund groups that go after scientists and climate research. After all, political campaigns have become so expensive, it's only economical to "frighten scientists away from participating in the public discourse."

It's no secret, but don't forget – it was a secret. That's how the Koch brothers like it: shady, shameless, and profitable.
