Urge the Senate: Reject David Bernhard's nomination as Interior Secretary

Since serving as Acting Interior Secretary, David Bernhardt lobbied hard for the environmentally destructive Cadiz Water Project and Shasta Dam Project in California, despite resistance from our state leaders.

He’s unfit to lead the Interior Department, and the Senate should reject his nomination for Interior Secretary.

Calling David Bernhardt ‘scandalous’ would be an understatement.

He’s lobbied for Big Oil companies who fought to rollback Endangered Species Act protections.

He’s diverted public funds for private profit at enormous costs to our natural resources.

He’s ignored public opinion and bypassed public comment periods to rush dangerous offshore drilling along California’s coast.

And he’s lied to Congress about his former clients and his own lobbying activities.

David Bernhardt has spent his entire career working against our environment, operating on behalf of Big Oil companies, and representing the very threats the Interior Department should be protecting us against.

Now, Trump has nominated him to lead the Interior Department.

We cannot allow this outrageous nomination go unchallenged.

It is preposterous for him to lead this department while attached to so many scandals and interests of his former clients.
